On Android, Runplanner backs itself up with your phone's Google backup. When you set up a new phone with the same Google account, your routes come back.
How it works
Runplanner keeps an encrypted copy of your routes, plans, gear and scheduled runs, updated a few seconds after every change. Android's own backup takes that copy along, end-to-end encrypted with your screen lock. Only that one file is backed up.
Check it in Profile → Settings → Backup & restore → Phone backup. It says In your Google backup and when it was last saved.
On a new phone
- Restore your Google backup while setting up the phone, as Android offers.
- Install Runplanner if it isn't installed yet, and open it.
- Tap Restore in the Welcome back message.
Choose Not now if you want to start fresh.
If the row is orange
Your phone has no screen lock, so Google can't encrypt the backup and leaves Runplanner out. Set a PIN, pattern or password in your phone settings.
On iPhone there's no separate step: your routes are included in your normal iCloud backup, and setting up a new iPhone from it brings them along.
Moving between Android and iPhone? Use a backup file instead. See Back up and restore with a file.
