Distance, time and pace

iPhone + Android

Every route shows three numbers: the distance, how long it will take you, and the pace that time is based on.

Where you see them

  • While you plan: in the panel at the bottom of the Map tab. They update with every tap.
  • On a saved route: in the stats card at the top of the route details screen.

How the time is worked out

Time is the distance multiplied by your pace, on flat ground. A 10 km route at 5:30 per km is 55 minutes.

Set your usual pace

Go to Profile → Settings → General → Default pace and pick minutes and seconds (in steps of 15 seconds). New routes use this pace. The factory setting is 5:30 per km.

Use a different pace for one route

  • While planning: tap the pace in the bottom panel and pick a new one. Use default pace goes back to your usual pace.
  • On a saved route: tap the pace (it has a pencil) on the route details screen and tap Save. The time and the weather forecast for the finish update with it.

Kilometres or miles

Switch Settings → General → Use metric units on for km and min/km, or off for miles and min/mi. A new install follows your phone's region.

Heights on the elevation profile are always shown in metres, also when you use miles.

Questions

Does the time include hills?

No, it's the time on flat ground. A hill-adjusted time is coming with Runplanner Pro. See Hill-adjusted time.
